Here is the Dog Bite Levels Scale developed by Dr Sophia Yin.
This shows the different levels of bites that a dog can do.
The scale was initially posted on Paws For Success, which has been acquired by Fetched in August 2023.
Six levels of bite:
Level 1: Snapping and Air biting with no contact.
Level 2: No puncture of the skin, but teeth do come into contact with the skin.
Level 3: Single bite and definite skin puncture, but rather superficial
Level 4: This is a very serious bite with punctures deeper than a level 3 bite.
Level 5: This level of bite consists of multiple bites with deep punctures, or multiple distinct bites in the same area.
Level 6: Death
